one-on-one sessions

behavior assessments

Our all-virtual behavior assessments are for dog owners that are concerned about a behavior their dog is showing or a behavior that seems to be getting worse. Some common behavior problems that we recommend behavior consultations for are:

Our goal is to provide you with a plan and offer guidance to help you get back that quality of life for both your dog and you and create a relationship with your dog that you are happy with.

What you can expect:

Behavior assessments are done virtually with video. Sessions are 60 minutes. The purpose of the initial session is to:

  • gather a complete history of your dog’s behavior
  • observe and evaluate your dog
  • discuss a management plan while working to modify the behavior
  • create a behavior modification plan
  • make a recommendation outlining how many sessions it may take to achieve your goal
After the initial assessment, we’ll email a behavior modification plan and make recommendations for how many sessions we should start with. Please note that any behavior modification plan takes time and there’s no quick fix. You will be required to work on your dog’s behavior on a daily basis.

What's included:

Behavior assessments include a personalized behavior modification plan for you, continued email support, and Spot On Training articles and handouts.

How much does it cost?

  • Behavior assessment $145

Dear Spot on dog training family,

It is with gratitude for the many years of being able to help dogs in the DMV, but also sadness that we will no longer be able to do so in the same capacity as always, that I write to inform you that on September 1, 2021, Spot on dog training will be closing in Washington, D.C.

Similar to many other businesses, the challenges presented by adapting our training services to COVID-19 has been difficult and after fits and starts of reopening, continuing pandemic related issues have prevented us from finding qualified and highly skilled dog trainers to serve your training needs.

As a result, we will be closing ALL in person dog training including group classes, workshops and private lessons. We will remain open for separation anxiety and isolation disorder training, as well as virtual training option for potty/crate training and emergency recall.

You have my sincere gratitude for your business and for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your family, and please keep us in mind for future referrals and positive reviews of our services. Please continue to refer us to your friends with dogs in need of help with alone time issues and potty training.

It was our sincere effort to offer excellent customer service to our clients, and we hope we were successful in our endeavors. We thank you for believing in us and sticking with us since 2009.
